A trichologist for Brighton, 40 minutes away
If you’re looking for a trichologist in Brighton, or trichology care you can trust, my clinic in Forest Row is about 40 minutes from the city by car, through Lewes and Ashdown Forest. Many patients from Brighton, Hove, Shoreham and Lewes make the trip for an unhurried consultation away from the city.
I’m a consultant trichologist, registered with the Institute of Trichologists, and I’ve worked with hair loss and scalp conditions since 1999. My practice is independent: you see me every time, and nothing is rushed or sold to you.
I’m in clinic on Monday, Thursday and Saturday, and parking is free.

Hair loss treatment near Brighton
For trichology patients from central Brighton, Preston Park, Kemptown or the seafront, take the A27 east to Lewes, then the A275 north through Chailey and Wych Cross onto the A22 into Forest Row. It’s a pleasant drive across Ashdown Forest, and you won’t be hunting for city parking when you arrive: parking at the clinic is free.
Hair loss treatment near Hove and Portslade
From Hove, Portslade or Aldrington, the A27 bypass takes you east past Brighton to Lewes, then the A275 north to Forest Row. Some patients prefer the A23 to Haywards Heath and the cross-country road through Ardingly, which takes about the same time.
Hair loss treatment near Shoreham and Southwick
From Shoreham-by-Sea, Southwick and Fishersgate, follow the A27 east past Brighton and turn north at Lewes, or take the A23 and A272 through Haywards Heath. Either way it’s a little under an hour.
Hair loss treatment near Lewes
Lewes is the closest town on this side: the A275 runs north from Lewes through Offham, Chailey and Sheffield Park to Wych Cross, where you join the A22 for the last few minutes into Forest Row. Patients also come from Ringmer, Newick and Barcombe.
Worthing, Lancing and the coast
Further west along the coast, see my page for Worthing, Lancing and Rustington, with directions to the clinic.
Why it’s worth the trip
In clinic I can examine your hair and scalp closely, in good light and from every angle, and see how your hair is shedding and growing in different areas. That’s the most reliable way to reach a diagnosis, and parking is free.
Why Brighton patients travel to Forest Row
There are hair clinics in Brighton, so it’s fair to ask why people drive out to see me. These are the reasons patients give most often.
- A trichologist, not a sales consultation. I specialise in diagnosing hair and scalp conditions, and I don’t offer hair transplants or sell packages.
- You see the same person every time. I run my own independent practice, so your history and progress stay with me.
- Time to get it right. A first consultation takes about an hour, including a close look at your hair and scalp.
- Free, easy parking and a calm, private clinic away from the city.
- Over 25 years in trichology, including my early training at the Philip Kingsley clinic in London.
What I can help Brighton patients with
I see women, men, teenagers and children with all hair types, with problems such as hair loss after pregnancy, menopause hair loss, traction alopecia and scalp psoriasis. See all hair and scalp conditions.
Questions from Brighton patients
If yours isn’t here, send me a message and I’ll get back to you.
Is there a trichologist in Brighton?
My clinic is in Forest Row, about 40 minutes from Brighton by car. Many of my patients come from Brighton and Hove.
How do I get to the clinic from Brighton?
Take the A27 to Lewes, then the A275 north to Wych Cross and the A22 into Forest Row. The clinic is at The Anderida Practice, Forge House, Lower Road, Forest Row RH18 5HE, to the left of Java & Jazz.
Looking for a hair transplant in Brighton?
I don’t perform hair transplants. I’m a trichologist: I find out why your hair is thinning or falling out and help you manage it. Many hair loss conditions, such as shedding, alopecia areata and scalp conditions, aren’t suited to a transplant, so it’s worth understanding the cause first.
Is there parking?
Yes, and it’s free. There may be space in front of Java & Jazz; if not, there are two free public car parks a short walk away.
Can I come by train?
It isn’t a direct journey from Brighton. The nearest station is East Grinstead, about 3 miles from the clinic, so most Brighton patients drive.
Do I need a GP referral?
No. You can book directly with me.
