Consultations for hair loss and scalp problems
Most people come to me because their hair is thinning, shedding or falling out in patches, or because their scalp is itchy, flaky or sore. There are two ways to see me.

What every consultation includes
Every consultation is an unhurried assessment from a registered trichologist, at my clinic in Forest Row.
- We talk it through. Your hair history, health, medication, diet, stress and family background.
- Hair and scalp analysis. I look closely at your hair and scalp.
- A clear explanation. What I think is causing the problem, in plain English.
- Further tests, only if needed. I’ll liaise with your GP to arrange them, or you can have them done privately.
- A written plan. Practical steps made for you, with check-ups to consider your treatment process and support you further.

Why see a trichologist?
A trichologist specialises in hair and scalp problems, and has time to look at the whole picture: your health, diet, lifestyle and history. You can book directly, with no GP referral needed.
I’ve worked in trichology since 1999, when I joined the Philip Kingsley clinic in London, and I’ve run my own Sussex practice since 2011. I’m registered with the Institute of Trichologists (no. 10060).

What patients say
Questions about my services
If yours isn’t here, send me a message and I’ll get back to you.
Do I need a GP referral?
No. You can book directly with me. If further tests are needed, I’ll liaise with your GP to arrange them, or you can have them done privately.
Should I choose a clinic or a video consultation?
If you can get to Forest Row, I recommend the clinic: an in-person consultation lets me examine your hair and scalp directly, which is the most reliable way to reach a diagnosis. Video consultations are for patients who live too far away to travel.
How long does a consultation take?
About an hour. Nothing is rushed, and there’s time for your questions.
What should I bring?
A list of any medication or supplements you take, and any recent blood test results if you have them. Please come with your hair as you normally wear it.
How much does a consultation cost?
It depends on the type of appointment. Send me a message and I’ll explain the fees before you book.
Do you help with scalp conditions as well as hair loss?
Yes. Alongside hair loss, I see people with dandruff, seborrhoeic dermatitis, scalp psoriasis, folliculitis and itchy or sore scalps.
